Stage 3 : Tue 26-Jun : Brixen - St. Vigil

Distance: 90.26 km
Vertical Metres: 3,046m
Passes: Würzjoch, Furkelpass

Short & sweet - Stage three might only be 90 kilometers long, but it packs a punch in the form of two tough climbs.  From the start in Brixen the route goes immediately uphill.  The 29km Würzjoch (Italian: Passo delle Erbe), which includes several short descents, is almost 1,700 metres of ascent @ 6.8%.  After enjoying the breathtaking views across the Dolomites, the route then descends the Badia valley (German: Gadertal) to Longega (Zwischenwasser). The route skirts tantalisingly close to the finish town of St Vigil before looping North.  The Furkel Pass will pose a significant test at the end of the day, averaging 8.1% over 9km it includes several steeper sections and a one kilometre ramp at 12%.  The final action for the day is the descent to San Vigilio di Marebbe.
