Stage 2 : Mon 25-Jun : Sölden - Brixen

Distance: 123.87 km
Vertical Metres: 2,998 m
Passes: Timmelsjoch, Jaufenpass

Day two of the Schwalbe-TOUR-Transalp starts with one of the most breathtaking passes, the Timmelsjoch, on the border of South Tyrol with terrific views to the Dolomites.  Expect snow at this altitude, at 2,500m this is the highest summit of the 2012 Transalp.  Attention will be required for the technical descent into valley Passeier (29k at 6%).  The next challenge is the Passo Monte Giovo (German: Jaufenpass), which is a steady ascent with 1,400 meters altitude gain (20km at 7%).  Expect the remainder of the stage to be pretty fast down the Eisacktal valley with a short ascent to the finish at the plaza in Brixen, the city of cathedrals.
